Who We Are
A partnership that goes back 27 years, Meera & Lauren met at design school and have since worked on over a hundred interior design projects - big and small, residential and commercial, and everything in between.
A partnership that has been all about blending styles and design aesthetics. Simply put, Lauren is the yin to Meera’s yang. This merging of complementary sensibilities has been at the very core of Cross Currents. Together, they cross currents with a flow of ideas and skills that blend together seamlessly.
Over the years, the Cross Currents team has grown to include a group of equally talented designers, all of whom share Lauren and Meera’s passion for creating beautiful spaces. “We look to share our experience with young talent. It’s important to have vision. However, experience is the tool to effectively realise it,” notes Meera.
Together they traverse the landscape of design, with a flow of ideas & skills that blend together seamlessly. Meera and Lauren have travelled extensively exploring the arts, crafts, and culture of the regions they visit. It was during one of these travels that they brought back a small, hand-curated consignment of one-of-a-kind artefacts. The collection sold out in no time.
Encouraged by the response, they took their design sensibilities and knowledge to the next level, launching The Furniture Company, a collection of affordable, statement furniture, made by designers, for designers.
